Kandid Xpressions!

The dream/vision to start a podcast/talk show first came to me in 2009; in Richardson, Texas. I wrote down the name “Kandid Xpressions!” which stayed with me since then. It all became very clear, during one of my routine bedtime devotion/quiet times. I had been coaching University students and teens’ parents, way before I knew that “Coaching” or “Storytelling” could be a career. They would tell me so much about themselves, their dreams and the struggles they had with fear. Even though I had no legal credentials and had never parented anyone, I somehow seemed to help people overcome fear, reclaim their faith and reconnect with their defiant teens; all through talking and storytelling. Unskilled and not knowing how to go about it or where to start, listening to naysayers along with the fear that it might not work; I pushed it to the back burner, where it sat for fourteen long years! After the death of my mother in 2017, the dream came whispering again but I kept pushing back, due to the same factors that discouraged me in 2009 – naysayers, fear of failure and lack of professional training. But you don’t really need all that when God has gifted you with wisdom, a voice & a dream. I didn’t know that! When my Grandmother passed away in 2019, and after having experienced my share of family drama, I thought it was time. Shortly after that, Covid hit hard and scattered the world! Everyone retreated to their individual safe spaces; just praying they’d see another new day alive. In a sense, we all lived by Faith or Fear, just focusing on our very next breath – not money or career. In the midst of Corona darkness, I found myself penning and sharing percolations of HOPE, with my friends and strangers alike. In December 2023, while reflecting on how I'd helped others step into their freedom and purpose; I decided it was my time to jump! Scared but determined, I gathered the courage to jump into my wagon of fulfillment. One which has led me here, to this season of Faith and Purpose. Through “Kandid Xpressions!”, the Podcast; I hope to bring stories of Faith, Resilience & Freedom; to help liberate, empower & motivate my guests and viewers. Just as iron sharpens iron, candid human stories should encourage other human beings, to overcome their limiting beliefs, take ownership of their individual dreams, and step into the authentic life of purpose that their creator intended when He made us all. Regardless of past fears and uncertain future, I'm glad I stepped into my space! Like me, you may be sitting on a dream that's pressing on your innermost nerves, listening to the same limiting voices that hold us all back. So what if you try and fail!? First time failure is not the end of life. It’s an opportunity to learn, gather courage and try again! It’s your time to JUMP!
